You may attend Traffic Violator School (TVS) in Sonoma County if you meet the following qualifications:
- You have not attended Traffic Violator School in the past EIGHTEEN MONTHS and ONE DAY since the date of your last traffic school eligible moving violation
- You have a valid State of California Driver's License
- Your violation, if for speeding, is not for an infraction of more than 25 mph beyond the speed limit
- Your violation, whether you are commercially licensed or not, did not occur in a commercially registered vehicle
The Courtesy Notice that the Sonoma County Hall Of Justice should mail you will identify any fees that must be paid to the Court prior to you signing up for Traffic Violator School. If you are eligible, and choose to decline Traffic School attendance, your automobile insurance premiums may be adversely affected (and you will be another point or more closer to having your license suspended).

If you fail to finish Traffic School, or you fail to return your Proof of Completion Certificate to the Traffic Court by the given date, your bail will be forfeited, and your traffic case will be closed. Also, your citation will be reported directly to the CA Department of Motor Vehicles as a CONVICTION.
