Law Enforcement Agency (LEA) Codes for Los Angeles County Courts
California drivers who are ticketed in Los Angeles County will find a four digit code on their court paperwork called a Law Enforcement Agency code or LEA code. The LEA code identifies the ticketing agency in LA County that issued your traffic citation. Traffic schools are required to collect this 4-digit LEA code for all citations issued by Los Angeles County officials.
You can find the LEA code on the "courtesy notice" paperwork provided from the court; the LEA code is normally a four-digit number listed immediately following your case/citation number. Also, you can usually find the name of the Law Enforcement Agency (LEA) on the top of your actual traffic ticket. However, different Law Enforcement Agencies may list their name on a different portion of the ticket.

As mentioned earlier, you can usually find the name of the Law Enforcement Agency on the top of your ticket. However, different Law Enforcement Agencies may list their name on a different portion of the ticket.
You can also find the LEA code on the paperwork provided from the court, usually as a four-digit number immediately following your case/citation number.
For example, if the "California Highway Patrol" pulled you over and gave you the traffic ticket in Los Angeles, on your traffic ticket you should see the name California Highway Patrol. On your court courtesy notice paperwork, you should find the LEA number 1999. When adding your ticket information for our course, you would choose 'California Highway Patrol -- 1999' as the Law Enforcement Agency (LEA).
