I Think I Entered My Citation Incorrectly
- question from 2/18/2024 by William, filed under LEA Code and Traffic Ticket
If I need to change the citation number, how can I do it?
I completed my traffic school course last month for a Los Angeles county ticket. I submitted my citation number as H*****9, but it seems to be H*****9-1942. If I need to change the citation number, how can I do it? Please let me know. Thanks!
TrafficSchool.com Says
Hello William-
Thank you for reaching out. I wanted to provide some clarification regarding the citation number you mentioned, specifically the digits '1942.' This number represents an LEA (Law Enforcement Agency) code, which commonly appears directly after the citation number on the courtesy letter sent to you by the Los Angeles County court, but it's not actually part of your official citation number.
When you entered your Traffic Ticket Information for Los Angeles County on our website, you were prompted to select an LEA Code. So, rest assured you entered your citation number correctly, and your certificate was submitted to the court with the LEA code included.
If you have any further questions or would like to verify the status of your case, feel free to contact the court directly. You can find your county court contact information here: Los Angeles County Court Contact Info
For reference, we have a full list of LEA codes here: LEA Codes for LA County Traffic Tickets • Law Enforcement Agency Codes
Hope that helps!
