Traffic School Positively Impacts Your Driving Record
- question from 11/8/2021 by Dave, filed under Completion Certificate and Traffic School for Tickets
Why do you use the word "hiding" a traffic ticket?
Why do you use the word "hiding" a traffic ticket? I would expect that passing your course would be shared with the Superior Court of California - County of Ventura where the violation occurred. And I would expect your fee to include forwarding of such information to the Superior Court of Ventura County.
Please respond via email. Thank you, Dave
TrafficSchool.com Says
Hello Dave,
Please rest assured, that once you complete the traffic school course, we will electronically submit your certificate of completion to your County of Ventura court within 72 business hours. Once your certificate information is retrieved by the court, they will mark it as received and electronically process your completion with the DMV so the ticket will no longer show as a point (i.e. "be hidden") on your driving record. There is no additional charge for this service, it is included in the base price of our course fee.
To answer your specific question, we often use the word "hidden" to better describe the legal wording used by California Vehicle Code 1803.5 where it states that completion of a traffic school program "results in a designation of the conviction as confidential". In other words, the traffic violation is "hidden" from your insurance company when they view your driving record. California traffic school regulatory bodies, like CTSI, advise that we use words like "hide", "mask", or "keep confidential" to most accurately describe how traffic school positively impacts your driving record. I have included links to the actual California Vehicle Codes below, if that is of any interest to you.
Thank you for your thoughtful question and please do not hesitate to reach out if you need further assistance!
