Florida Driver with Ticket in Virginia
- question from 3/12/2020 by Stephanie, filed under Traffic Ticket and Out of State
Will your school be accepted in VA and will they keep points off my FL license?
Hello,
I am a Florida licensed driver who got a speeding ticket in Virginia. I need to take a defensive drivers course so I don't get any points on my license. Will your courses be accepted in VA and will they keep points off my FL license?
TrafficSchool.com Says
Hello Stephanie-
You will need to contact the court listed on your ticket or paperwork. The Virginia courthouse will be able to confirm your eligibility for traffic school and if taking the course will keep points off your license. In most cases, you will need to take a state approved course based on where the ticket was issued but the court will be able to confirm.
If approved, then you will need to select the “Court required - Non-resident” option for your course when you register:
