In Texas, the Department of Public Safety allows driver education to be completed online if the course is part of the approved parent taught driver education program. Our program, also known as PTDE (Parent Taught Drivers Ed), helps teenage students, with the guidance of their parents, learn important topics of traffic safety and ensures qualified adult supervision during required driving hours.
After you register for the course, student and parent will be provided the necessary information to fulfill the parent-taught requirement and begin the online program material. Every student and parent is required to complete a Texas Department of Public Safety packet along with the online drivers ed course. To get started:
Teens between the ages of 15-17 can apply for a Texas drivers permit after taking the first unit as long as they submit the proper DL forms (driver license forms). The student and parent (or legal guardian) must bring forms DL-90A, DL-91A and DL-91B to their local TX DPS office. These forms will be included in the packet you get from the DPS.
Trafficschool.com has hand selected the American Safety Council as our exclusive Texas Parent Taught Drivers Education provider. ASC is approved by the Texas Department of Public Safety to provide an online drivers education course to fulfill your Texas drivers ed requirement.

In Texas, adults between the age of 18 and 24 that have never had a state of Texas driver license must take adult driver education in order to apply for a drivers license.
Trafficschool.com has teamed with the American Safety Council to provide Online Texas Adult Drivers Education. The American Safety Council adult driver ed course is fully approved by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to meet driver licenses requirements for 18-24 year olds, as stated by the Texas DPS.

Learning to drive is a big deal in any Texas teen's life. Before you can earn a license from the TX DPS, new drivers must pass a written traffic law exam administered by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Taking any test can be nerve-racking, let alone taking a test at the DPS. Taking your TX permit test doesn't have to be a frightful experience as long as you are prepared. Taking an unlimited amount of DPS practice tests is a great way to sharpen your mind and build your confidence before the big test day at the Department of Public Safety.
